CASA ANA
A true Mexican experience!!
The little fishing village of Boca de Tomatlan lies one half hour south of Puerto Vallarta. La Boca, as the locals call it, rests on a small bay off Puerto Vallarta's larger Bay of Banderas.
Our little stone cottage, Casa Ana, sits on the banks of the Rio Horcones. The address is “al otro lado del rio” or “the other side of the river.” Your Boca adventure begins with walking across the cement bridge; you can't get there by car.
Next to Casa Ana is our guesthouse, Choza Jimmy, or Jimmy's Shack. Choza Jimmy has two efficiency apartments with a large shaded patio and a tropical garden. It is a great place to relax and share time with family or friends.
So many things to do:
• swim at the beach
• hike up the river to waterfalls
• trek west along the bay to other beautiful beaches
• enjoy local beach restaurants - one was in BonAppetit
• shop 'til you drop in Puerto Vallarta (4.5 pesos by bus!)
• take time for yourself, relax, read a book, hang on the beach, take a siesta...

HISTORY
Casa Ana was built with river stones from the Rio Horcones in 1991 by Clancy Page or (Ana as the locals call her). Ana, was a semi retired herbalist, world traveler and hotel keeper from California. She later built the pink and yellow guesthouse she called "Biblioteca" because of the huge personal library she kept there. Ana surrounded her little "casitas" with beautiful gardens and a huge patio so she could look at the flowers, watch birds and listen to the river and relax.
In 2003 we had the greatest luck to be able to meet Ana, spend time with her in Boca and buy her house.
In 2004 we added a second floor apartment on "Biblioteca", now known as Choza Jimmy, or Jimmy's Shack.
The casas are located "al otro lado del rio", or the other side of the river from the rest of the quaint little fishing village. In the mornings fishermen cross the bridge in front of the casas on their way to the ocean and work, children cross on their way to school and women do laundry in the river.
We hope to enjoy Ana's casas for years to come. If you come to stay with us you too will feel some of the peace and energy of the little village and Ana's casas.
